Maternity leave for six months at Papaellinas Group of Companies

Papaellinas Group of Companies shows great sensitivity towards family issues. In addition to all other benefits, the company continues to support the institution of family through its decision to extend maternity leave to six months, whereas the law requires only 18 weeks, allowing working mothers to spend more time with their newborns before returning to their workplace after they have given birth. It must be noted that this benefit is optional.

·         In the same framework, very important is also the decision to provide to all members of staff flexible working hours in order to ensure a better balance between work and family life. Further, the company decided to provide free supply of all pharmaceuticals prescribed by physicians to all members of staff facing childbearing problems.
·         In addition, all members of staff receive for every child a 100 euro coupon each month for the purchase of any baby products until the child reaches the ages of two and a half years.

Free Child Safety Seats
Papaellinas Group of Companies continues to demonstrate its sensitivity towards the institution of family by providing a free car safety seat worth 155 euro for every newborn child. This benefit combined with specific seminars aims to support the endeavors of the Group to develop road consciousness among all employees.
Note how important it is for young parents to use child safety seats for their newborns. Reliable statistics have shown that child safety seats, when used correctly, prevent car accidents by 71% and serious injuries by 67%. In a collision at 30 km/h, a child weighing 10 kg and carried in the arms of an adult passenger, whose seat belt is fastened, may be ejected with the force of 300 kg!

Useful advice
In case you travel with children in the car, even for short distance trips, please ensure that:
·         the only way to guarantee safety is to place the baby in a child safety seat and never on your lap;
·         you never place the child safety seat in front of an activated air bag, because in case of collision the air bag may kill      your child;
·         you set a good example for your children by fastening your seat belt;
·         you always have in mind that in case of collision, passengers who are not properly secured with safety belts may injure other passengers;
·         you do not allow children to open the windows and take their hands or head outside the car, even if it is not moving;
·         the car's doors are always locked and secured through child safety door lock which only enables opening from the outside;
·         while travelling by car, a good idea is to keep your child busy (with stories, smooth toys etc.);
·         you do not leave your children alone in the car, not even for the slightest bit of time; even during days with normal temperature, if the car is exposed to sunlight, the temperature may rise dangerously inside the car and cause burns to children;
·         if the children are complaining in the car, they usually have a reason to do so; they may be thirsty or they may feel cold or hot or they have dizziness because of the heat; stop the car in a safe place and take care of the children until you are able to continue driving without disruptions.
